Compassionate Therapy, Creative Resources and hopefully a little bit of humor….
My Approach
I approach therapy through connecting with you authentically. If you saw me outside of our session, you would recognize the connection. I am a licensed marriage and family therapist (LMFT) which means I use a systemic lens of seeing people through their relationship with other people, the world and even their pets. I’ve trained extensively in trauma and anxiety and find a way to meet you where you are at with the interventions I know to find a the right interventions and pace for you.

More about Tess
Mental Health Therapist, Lecturer, Curious Human, Animal Lover
I was raised here in Colorado, Colorado Springs to be exact. I grew up in many acres in a forest with a pond. I spent many years of my youth running barefoot threw the pines and making forts. I fell in love with riding horses and spent all my time and money being able to pursue this love in my teenage years.
I went to Colorado State University where I studied everything from physics to theater- and loved them all. Of course they do make you eventually choose classes that are related to one another that can be formed into a major. I loved psychology and the idea of working with humans.
My curiosity took my to South America (Ecuador and Peru) for a year to continue to understand myself, other people and this big wide world we live in. I still connect with amazing people and families I met and lived with who continue to challenge my understanding and help me to grow.
I went to Syracuse University and earned by Master’s in Marriage and family therapy and my true understanding of the word ‘winter.’ I watched other therapists’ through glass, saw my very first clients and truly explored my own inner world that connected to everyone and everything I had known.
I worked for the first 5 years as a family therapist in schools. Children and teens never stop teaching me and helping me grow (and stay in the know of all things relevant and hip). Since this time I have supervised interns and child and family teams, while continuing to be a therapist and continuing to grow.
I love books, climbing, dogs, nature, learning, laying on the couch, eating pizza, sitting in the sun, cold plunging and hot water.
